By accessing our website or using our services, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older, have the legal authority to enter into a binding agreement, and have read and agreed to these chinatosouthafrica terms of service. We reserve the right to refuse any service request involving prohibited goods, fraud or any breach of applicable law.

4.1 Quote Validity

All quotes are valid for 7 days from issue unless otherwise stated. Quotes are subject to change after the validity period due to freight rate fluctuations, fuel surcharges or exchange rate movements.

4.2 All-Inclusive Pricing

We provide all-inclusive pricing covering sea or air freight, customs duties, VAT, port handling and last-mile delivery as specified in the quote.

Full payment is required in advance before we book your shipment, unless a separate credit arrangement has been agreed in writing. We accept payment by EFT to our designated South African bank account. Goods will not be released until payment has cleared. Late payments attract interest at 2% per month on overdue amounts.

5B.1 Free Storage Period

All clients receive 7 calendar days of free storage at our Johannesburg warehouse from the date we notify you that goods are available for collection. Notification is sent by email, WhatsApp or phone to the contact details provided at booking.

5B.2 Storage Penalty After 7 Days

From Day 8, a daily storage fee of R150 per CBM per day applies for LCL shipments. For FCL container loads a flat rate of R1,500 per day applies. Fees accrue until goods are collected or we receive written instruction to arrange delivery.

5B.3 Notifications

We send a reminder on Day 5 and a final notice on Day 7. It is the client's responsibility to keep contact details accurate so that notifications are received.

5B.4 Payment of Storage Fees

All accrued storage fees must be paid in full before goods are released. Storage invoices are payable within 24 hours of issue. We reserve the right to place a lien on goods until all outstanding fees are settled in full.

5B.5 Abandoned Goods

Goods remaining uncollected for more than 60 calendar days after the free storage period, without client response or payment arrangements, may be treated as abandoned and sold, donated or disposed of to recover outstanding costs. The client remains liable for any shortfall.

As a client you are responsible for providing accurate product descriptions, quantities, weights and values; ensuring correct packaging and labelling; obtaining required import permits or licences; and paying all applicable SARS duties and VAT. Any delays, fines or costs arising from inaccurate information are the sole responsibility of the client.

All goods entering South Africa are subject to customs inspection by SARS. While we provide duty estimates in our all-inclusive quotes, SARS retains the right to assess goods at different values or tariff codes. Any additional duties assessed beyond our estimate remain payable by the client. We are not responsible for delays caused by SARS examination or detention of goods.

8.1 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, CHINA TO SOUTH AFRICA (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from our services, including loss of profit, revenue or business interruption.

8.2 Loss or Damage to Goods

We act as a freight forwarder and not as a carrier. Liability for loss or damage in transit is subject to the terms of the actual carrier and applicable international conventions including FIATA standard trading conditions. We strongly recommend that clients obtain comprehensive cargo insurance for all shipments.

8.3 Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for failure or delay caused by port congestion, strikes, pandemics, government actions or natural disasters beyond our reasonable control.

These chinatosouthafrica terms of service strictly prohibit shipment of goods prohibited by South African law or international regulations, including firearms without permits, narcotics, counterfeit goods, undeclared hazardous materials, endangered species products and sanctioned goods. Clients are fully liable for all resulting costs and legal consequences if prohibited goods are discovered.
